Anthropic Park | Gold Prize | The project investigates the roles of architecture, landscape design, and urban planning and their constraints by the necessity to allow human existence. An environmental remediation project on the coast of Southern Italy that connects nature with the imprints of humanity. Architects Francisco Leiva of Grupo aranea (Spain) and Marco Scarpinato of AutonomeForme (Italy) integrate the process of restoration in an area that has been degraded during the industrial age. The shape-shifting ecosystem generates a flooded landscape filled with flora and fauna, with a special focus on migrating birds.
Public Condenser | Silver Prize | The project on a new university campus hosts a mix of activities including indoor and outdoor sports facilities, food outlets and various public spaces. Conceived as a minimal structure using rough materials, robust and long lasting techniques, the building is organized vertically with its different activities superimposed on one another, using the roof as a panoramic playground for football and basketball games. The project?s minimal deployment of architectural and technical means was considered a remarkable contribution to sustainable construction by the members of the jury.
