La casa prefabbricata di Richard Rogers
È stata costruita in Annberg Courtyard, di fronte a Burlington House, come installazione nell’ambito della mostra Inside Out di Richard Rogers.
La struttura é stata aperta al pubblico fino all’8 settembre; all’interno un docufilm illustrava il progetto e tutte le fasi costruttive.
Noto durante il corso della sua carriera per la sua attenzione alle istanze sociali dell’architettura, così come per l’innovazione del progetto e dei materiali, Richard Rogers e il suo team (Richard Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners) ha concepito Homeshell come una delle soluzioni possibili per l’housing sociale: una casa a basso costo costruita con una tecnologia pionieristica, giá sviluppata per il sistema di housing Oxley Woods nella cittadina di Milton Keynes.
Insulshell: questo il nome del sistema costruttivo
The Homeshell installation is constructed using a flexible, quick and highly energy efficient building system called Insulshell (developed by Sheffield Insulated Group and Cox Bench). Arriving as flat-pack panels, the Homeshell can be constructed on site in twenty-four hours.
The Insulshell system can be adapted to suit traditionally difficult locations, particularly highly urban or small sites. This will enable more urban brownfield sites (previously built on land) to create more homes and utilise existing transport and infrastructure links, instead of encroaching on the green belt.
