The design is a distintive circular driver’s cab that offers 11% more capacity than the new train recently introduced in London underground. (The London subway logo is placed on the noose of the train. The image is so evocative with the circular red sign).
Every carriage is lit with leds and is fully air conditioned. The news, reported by the Evening Standard, is that this concept design can be potentially realized in Britain.
During the exhibition, Steve Scrimshaw, managing director of Siemens Rail Systems UK, said: “Our exhibition highlights some of the innovations that can be considered by cities to help their metro systems tackle these issues and help passengers benefit from an improved travel experience. We wanted people to have a really personal experience, sitting in the seats of a brand new, futuristic train and interacting with the exhibits on display in a way that not only informs but excites at the same time“. The image is easy to understand: the conventional red sign for an unconventional train.
